Chris Parry runs his own strategic forecasting, change leadership and trouble-shooting company, advising governments, leading commercial companies and financial institutions about change, geo-political and strategic issues, future trends and systemic risk in relation to every aspect of human activity.

With a doctorate in organisational and behavioural psychology, Chris teaches strategic and operational leadership, as well as psychological approaches to problem-solving and warfare, at universities in the UK and abroad, and within major corporates.

An active author, his most recent book is ‘Super Highway: Sea Power in the 21st Century’.

Previously, after reading Modern History at Jesus College Oxford, Chris was an aviator and warfare officer in the Royal Navy. He commanded two destroyers, an amphibious assault ship, the UK’s Amphibious Task Group and the Maritime Warfare Centre. He also held three senior Joint and UK Ministry of Defence strategic and policy appointments.

As well as sailing every sea, he experienced regular combat operations and operational tours in Northern Ireland, the Gulf and The Falklands, where he disabled an enemy submarine and rescued 16 SAS troopers from a glacier during a hurricane.

His best-selling Falklands’ war diary was published by Viking Penguin as ‘Down South’.

He was also the founding chair of the UK’s Marine Management Organisation and is a frequent commentator on international relations, future trends and geopolitics in the UK’s national print media and on a wide range of international broadcast channels, including Bloomberg, CNN, Sky and the BBC.
